Make Time Friendship Group is a local club held at the Young People's Leisure Club, Perdiswell, Worcester every Wednesday morning. The exception to this is if a day out or meal at a local restaurant has been arranged, on a Wednesday Morning, speakers from many background are invited to share their life experiences from doctors, dancers to cookery experts.
Jenny, founder and team leader of the club has made it her ambition to care for others in practical ways and values each person who attend the club.
The variety of trips out have been amazing and have added interest and quality of life for everyone.
The subscription for the club is £2.00 person, which is good value especially as this includes refreshments.
A sample draw is organized most Wednesdays and the excitement of winning a can of soup or a bar of soap or some novelty helps with funding the hire of the hall.
For most members, Make Time Friendship Group is the highlight of the week and many deep friendship have been formed as a result of meeting together and sharing time with others.

I think the club is very welcoming and has some very interesting activities which I would never have done on my own. In particular, the trips out have been excellent and fantastically cheap. When we all pull together we can achieve so much more.
Cheers to Jenny for founding the group.

I was impressed by the variety and regularity of the activities organised, I was rung to see how I was getting on and this was no small part of getting me back into a more social and happy way of life. Perhaps the best feature of the club was its reliability, some thing on every week, no cancellations.

We would like to congratulate you on creating such a successful friendship group, you have done a fantastic job. There is not any pressure put on anyone to join in, but it is left to members to decide if they want to participate in the various activities organised for the group. We have always found it to be a friendly and relaxing environment in which to meet and enjoy each others company.

I was fortunate to find this group in Sept 2009. As an 80 year old widow, of only a few months, without a car, and at a loss as to how the rest of my life was to develop. The warm relaxed and almost family nature of the group has been therapeutic and I have attended nearly every week. I have felt a general sense of relaxed and undemanding friendship in the group which has fostered members participation in events and fundraising. The great variety of subjects, outings and activities arranged by the secretary, must have been a boon to others, who like me, are living alone but still need to feel part of the community.
